Spring Newsletter
We are pleased to be six months into our third year with terrific plans for an exciting 2008. We hope this newsletter will help inform you
and hopefully inspire you to come out and join our Cole House family in celebration of these festivities:
- NEW MENUS: We hope you enjoy our new lunch and dinner menus. Our new extended wine list is now in service with the addition of
Calaboose Cellars to our selection of "House Wines" all
available by the glass or bottle.
- EARLY BIRD SPECIALS: These Wednesday and Thursday specials were initiated to reward early diners during the winter months. By
popular demand we are going to continue them throughout the year. Here is the deal; arrive between 5:00 and 6:00pm any Wednesday
or Thursday and order dinner for only $10.00. That includes your choice of soup or salad, a selection of three reduced portion
entrees, two sides, and a dessert choice. Your beverage and wine is extra. When weather permits you can enjoy the early birds on
the deck or new patio. To participate, simply be seated by 6pm. We greatly appreciate your reservations. It helps our kitchen to
better prepare. (No other discounts are available with the Early Bird Dinners.)
- MOTHER'S DAY IS SUNDAY, MAY 11. The most popular dining event of the year. Please reserve your table early. Once again we will
feature Prime Rib, Lamb Chops, Salmon Florentine, Sage Roasted Pork Loin, and Cornish Game Hen. Desserts will feature our French
Strawberry Shortcake and Key Lime Pie.
- THE PHAT TROUT LEAPS INTO SUMMER. Our Phat Trout wine garden will host 4 evenings of games, movies, music, friendship and wine
thru October, 2008. At each of the evening events we will be serving our "garden" wine at the Phat Trout only, for $10 per liter
and $5 per half lite.
Here are the highlights of this year's schedule: Every Wednesday, starting May 14th we will host "Game
Night". Bring your friends and join us for Dominos, Chess, Cards, Backgammon, or bring your own favorite game. The event is free
and would be a great follow-up to the Early Bird Dinner or just an opportunity to join friends over a carafe' of "garden" wine.
Remember, we also have an express coffee machine at the Phat Trout. Every Thursday, starting May 15th Phat trout will host an a
Free Movie Night which will begin at sunset. Bring your blankets, friends, and good cheer. Our movie selection will feature the
classics, both foreign and domestic. Movie selections to be announced.
Now in progress; Fridays and Saturdays come down early
and join us for live music on the gazebo stage. The Phat Trout will open Wednesday through Friday at 4:00pm and close at 11:00.
The wine garden will open at 11 am on Saturdays starting May 17th and will host our Panini sandwiches with bountiful carafes of
garden wine.
- HAPPY HOUR starts Wednesday, May 14th at both the Cole House and Phat Trout from 5 till 6 pm. The deal is "two for one" of any of
our wine cocktails which include: Margaritas, Sangrias, Bloody Marys, Strawberry-Rhubarb Wine Spritzer, and Mimosas. (Imagine
combining Happy Hour with our Early Bird and Game Night!!)
- SUNDAY MID-DAY DINNER AT THE COLE HOUSE STARTS SUNDAY, MAY 4TH. We will feature our full dinner menu with Prime Ribs of Beef
and two of our most popular brunch items every Sunday with extended hours from 11 am until 3pm.
- SATURDAY HOURS EXTENDED AT COLE HOUSE. Starting Saturday, May 3rd the Cole House will close for lunch and open for dinner at 4
until 10 pm. We will continue to close the Cole House at 9 the remainder of the week. This schedule will remain in effect through
October when Saturday's hours will return to 5 till 9pm on November 1st.
- MUSIC FESTIVAL RETURNS FOR 3RD YEAR Plan on hearing some great music throughout the town of Andrews on Friday, Saturday and Sunday,
June 13, 14, and 15. The Cole House - Phat Trout stage is proud to host the return of J.D. Danner with her band on Friday and
Saturday evening. That very magical Celtic group from Virginia "Hewn From The Mountain" returns again this year to our stage on
Saturday afternoon during the street festival.
- HAIL TO THE FOURTH, (The Fourth of July that is.) Independence day this year is on a Friday and the Cole House and Phat Trout

...The owner and manager are first rate, and the staff is very courteous. And the food? Yummy! Great entrees, fantastic desserts, and a
very acceptable wine list. A very comfortable, easy going atmosphere. Perfect for a night out in the mountains with friends!

Excellent food: from start to finish the meal was first class and I have eaten in many fine restaurants. I would recommend this restaurant
to anyone who knows good food. Desserts are my forte and I was very impressed with all three that I tasted... I will be back again! In my
opinion this is the best restaurant in Cherokee County and deserves the award!
